After hours of searching with no luck

I have a 2000 S10 xtreme with a 2.2 auto. truck has 170k miles and the motor has 100k on it. I recently purchased this truck to fix up and have replace the plugs, wires, O2 sensors and catalytic converter. It has a crack exhaust manifold when I got the truck and a bad O2 sensor that was tripping the SES light. It also had a stalling issue I thought was caused by the bad O2 sensor. it would stall at lights and smelled of raw fuel or running rich and would restart after you turned the key off for 10-20 seconds.

Now after everything is replaced I have topped off the fuel tank and it has ran fine for the 200 miles to 1/2 tank. While at 65 with the cruise set I accelerated when the transmission downshifted the motor would not rev over 4000 rpm. when I got off the exit at the light the motor stalled again just like it did with the bad sensors. When it stalls there is no SES light it acts like you just turned the key off, and sometimes will stumble as its stalling. But the ABS and Brake light will come on in the dash? Putting it in neutral turning the key off then it will restart and run with no issues for about 10-15 minutes then it will do it again. This will happen while idling or at cruising speed also. And to add to the problem the cruise control stopped working after it stalled…

I plan on checking the Fuel pressure first due to the pump being pretty noisy. What else could this be ECM, Ignition, Sensor related?

I have been searching on this problem and haven’t found a solution or a direction to go on this. Any suggestions

Thanks
Joey

You need to get a scaner on this and see what is happening, what the sensors are reading and so forth. A fuel pressure guage would be a good idea. Is it getting up to operating temp? A scanner would be the best route.

I think i might have found it....

while driving it this weekend it was still stalling about every 10 minutes. I was on about 1/4 tank, i topped it off and it hasnt doen it yet!!!

It has to be fuel pump related, it only starts when it has a 1/2 tank or less. I think the pickup tube might be loose or cracked and its sucks air once it reaches that level
