strobe lightffej010 11-14-2008, 12:20 AM For work, I drive a 2007 Chevy Silverado 3/4 HD with a utility box. I would like to add an amber strobe light to the truck for when I'm working along the side of a busy road to better alert passing motorists. Is there a way I can wire the strobe light into my hazard light switch, so that when I activate my hazards, the strobe light comes on as well, and if that is possible, will the strobe retain its normal flash pattern, or would it receive the same pattern as the hazard lights? MT-2500 11-14-2008, 10:02 AM No way I know of. Hazard light flash strobe light need steady power. I would wire it with a fused circuit and a on /off switch with a indicator light built into switch as a reminder to turn it off when done with it. kahjdh 11-15-2008, 09:12 AM He could tap into the hazards and wire in a relay to give him power. When it flashes do you just hook it up to power or does it need some kind of module? kahjdh 11-15-2008, 09:13 AM Is it new style or classic? ffej010 11-15-2008, 01:18 PM It is the classic style. I was hoping that I could combine the two w/ one switch, but perhaps not. Jeff Is it new style or classic? ukrkoz 11-19-2008, 06:42 PM well, though awkward, there are several different warning lights that can be either battery operated or plugged into the outlet. probably, not as powerful as strobs, yet... less chances to mess up something, as those trucks have weird electrical responses to rigged wiring. fleettech 11-19-2008, 08:32 PM you need to have it wired up seperate. I would run a fused hot wire from the battery in to a switch and then out to the light. A relay probablly won't be needed for it they don't draw nearly as much as a halogen rotater. I would go with a LED light doesn't draw squat for power and won't mess with a radio or charging system vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
