1997 Chevrolet Silverado Problems!!!famous1 11-12-2008, 10:07 PM I have a 1997 chevrolet silverado, 5.7 v8 engine. I put in a new gas pump but it wont start. It says the gas pressure is low. The cables also have very low spark. Any advice on how to fix these problems? I know some Chevy fuel modules are crapola. Thanks :crying: When you/before you , replace the fuel pump always check pressures and VOLTAGE/GROUNDS TO PUMP CONNECTOR... this is required as you,,,possibly, and others have found may have been the problem of low fuel pressures... use of a meter to measure the voltage and ground security is required...many fail to clean and fasten the ground point located on the frame...
