My check engine light came on a while back, so I got out the screwdriver and found it was something called the "Evap Canister Vent Control Valve".

Anyone know what the hell that is?

Evap Canister is a smog control device. I think it's similar to the charcol canister.

Anyone know where the actual device is located on the car?

By the way, it's a '98 GXE.
