97 Malibu V6 3.1L Cruise Control Not Working

Hello,
My 97 Malibu had so many problems that I had to fix them one by one in a very cost effective way.
Recently the least significant problem of my 97 Malibu is that its cruise control is not working. Although I never used it, I still want to fix it if it can be fixed without much cost and effort.
The basic problem is that the cruise control switch on the left side of the steering wheel seems not working. Each time when I press it down, it won't hold or latch and the little green light on the switch will be on and disappear once I remove the press on the switch button. Is this a problem of the switch button itself or a problem somewhere else in the cruise control system?

Some times my light works sometimes it doesn't but my cruise always works therefore it may not be the switch. Inspect the cables under the hood and connections to the module to make sure they are OK. Maybe you can pick up a module at a scrap yard for a decent price.
