EVAP incomplete

My 1999 Exp has about 145000 miles. I fixed an EGR problem with a new DPFE sensor. I cleared the codes and have driven over 300 miles. I have no codes, but my code reader says EVAP incomplete. (Don't know if it was there before I cleared the codes.)
I need a CA smog check; I'm guessing this will fail me or they won't test?
Have any ideas on how to fix an incomplete EVAP?
Thanks for any help,
Dan

EVAP is evaporative emissions control. It is a charcoal cannister close to the right front wheel under the hood. It takes the gas fumes from the tank and stores them in the cannister to be reburned by the engine. If it is incomplete check for a hose that has come off. Worst scenario is the charcoal cannister will have to be replaced. You'll have to get it fixed. It will keep the truck from passing smog test, but start at the cannister and back up checking all the hoses.

Thanks Dave. I will check out the cannister and all the hoses.
It just seems strange that if there is a problem I don't get an error code.
