1997 Dodge Ran Van 2500 Won't Start - Starter?

Last week my van began having trouble starting. It would click when I started it, similar to when the battery is dead. However, the battery is only one month old. After a few times trying it would start. It has progressively taken more tries to start, and today it is taking five minutes worth of tries! There is full power, in other words, radio, dash, air all comes on.

Is this my starter going bad? If so, can an amateur change it himself?

It's the starter or the starter relay. Both are fairly easy to change.

Ok thanks, I appreciate your help. I think I'll start with the starter relay since that is the easiest to replace.

I replaced the starter relay and that did not fix the problem. I am going to attempt to take out the starter myself (I'm an amateur). Is the best place to reach it through the hood or underneath the van?

From under the van. Remember to disconnect the battery before you start so you don't short anything out.
