car shuts off

i have a 1994 SL2 and the thing just shuts off when it gets warm. its an automatic so it shouldnt stall at all but it does. and then wont start back up until it cools down later on....any thoughts anyone?

Bad crank trigger. A test for this is when it dies and won't start and you are cranking the engine, take note of the tachometer. If it doesn't move at all while cranking, bad crank trigger. Also known as, crank position sensor or CKP.

CPS (Crankshaft position sensor)

Ive also heard of coil packs not working when warm.

To check the CPS along with watching the tach, check for spark between the coil towers. If you see spark...CPS is FINE. No spark...new CPS is in order.
