Oil Pan Gasket on 2000 4.8L V8 GMC Sierra

I am swapping out this gasket and have removed all the bolts and wiring for the pan and it is very loose. I have also taken out the lower control arm. Problem is the pan still wont come down. It has to slide back towards the transmission then down. I would appear the oil pump tube is in the way inside and the pan actually needs to come straight down, but I can't see in to tell. If that is the case then the steering bar and the tie rods would have to come down. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks in advance

I appreciate the link but I I am missing something. The pan is clearly unbolted at this point and is hanging at a 30 degree angle. I have felt around inside and took a pic with my phone. The oil tube line runs from the front of the pan to back and it prevents the pan from coming back. As a result the pan appears to need to come straight down but can't because the steering is in the way.

Get the dipstick out of there. Try and reach in an get the oil pick up unbolted and out of the way. I would suggest dropping the steering down if the pick up cannot be removed.

I ended up dropping the steering out of the way. IT was just 2 large bolts and that freed her up. Went back in just fine. I followed the directions to a T and I am still getting oil dripping at the back near the starter and on the opposite side. Is there another location that could be causing this or did the gasket not seat quite right?

I did put some hi temp gasket sealer on the corners as suggested. I noticed small rubber seals that looked like they were seated in the block. I am wondering If it is possible to leak oil out of those even if I did put RTC on them.

THanks for the advice.

Any opinions on where else the oil may come from on my above thread?

Back of the intake mainfold, start looking around, no other way to find a leak.
