I have been battling harmonic balancer problems all summer long it seems - Replaced one in August 2008 - worked for a few weeks - broke near the key way -replaced with a new one and figured I would change seal at same time as the seal was original (250,000 miles). Now, I have a problem with the seal leaking oil!!! Wish I woulda never changed the seal now, but hindsight is always 20/20! Have put 2 different seals on now and it is still leaking!

Any sugguestions??? Thanks:crying:

2 questions, is it leaking oil where the seal fits into the cover or from the seal area around the balancer hub?

It is leaking from where the hub fits into the seal - not from around the outside of the seal. I am going to measure it to see if it is "machined" correctly as I never had a problem with the old seal - I was also thinking about a "speedi-sleeve" to see if that will help make up the gap???:crying:

Check for a groove worn in the balancer hub from the old seal, as you say it may need a sleeve kit.
