I have a '95 z34 that is not charging the battery. I installed a new battery and I do believe that the altenator is good. I put the charger on the battery than 10 min's later i took the charger off and used a meter to cheack the charge. I wake the charge drop really fast. When I put the charger on the battery I heard a click in or by the fuse box thats by the battery.:banghead: What could this be?

Thanks for the help,
Terry R.

have you taken car to auto zone and got the alt tested? or you can take it off to get tested? but easier on car you could try this take neg cable off at night and see if it stays charged if it don't you may have short in battery.

Terry the alternator charges the battery .....if the battery is replaced with a known good battery ,,, then the alternator is highly suspect...with a voltmeter and engine running the alternator red lead must be at 13-15volts dc no lower ...if it reads 12volts or less time to get the tools out oh ya and your WALLET......
