Trans Trouble Codes on 2000 Grand Prix SEGunpowder93G_A_GT 10-21-2008, 07:20 PM Hey everyone! I've got a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix SE. I pulled these trouble codes off my car two days ago... PO753 -Shift Solenoid A Circuit Electrical P0716 -Input/Turbine Speed Sensor A CKT Range Perf P1810 -TFP(Trans Fluid Pressure) Valve Postition Switch Circuit It shifts hard, stays in gear too long and I'm getting about 14mpg....HELP!!! tblake 10-21-2008, 09:21 PM All of these three codes in conjunction sounds like an electrical problem to me. Check the fuses and the wiring going to the transaxel. BNaylor 10-22-2008, 09:27 AM What is the current mileage? And when was the last transaxle service? troy1 10-23-2008, 09:44 PM Check the wires that run next to the accumulator under the air box (to the left). They rub and cause problems. Also pull of the transmission connector and make sure all the pins are in place and put it back on Gunpowder93G_A_GT 10-24-2008, 10:37 PM What is the current mileage? And when was the last transaxle service? 137 thousand and change. A couple months ago....but this had been going on since I had the tranny replaced May 2006.... thats a long involved story.... it's posted on my MySpace. Gunpowder93G_A_GT 10-24-2008, 10:48 PM The electrical problems make sense...seeing as how the idiots who did the tranny replacement didn't reassemble my car correctly. The left my ABS unpluged on both brakes(they later told me they never touched my brakes...HA!!), left off and/or barely connected the grounds on my engine(which led to some spectacular situations if you can imagine.) AND dragged me through the mud about getting paid(It was a warranty job.). Wanna know how long it took to get my car back? 3 weeks!!!!! Sorry....every time I think about it I get p/oed . Thanx guys, I'll try you suggestions. Oh, speaking of which....could any of that lead to my A/C not working properly? Doesn't work on 1-4. And the fresh air door doesn't work half the time....grrr... Oh, any of you eve have a lake in your passenger floor board after a good rain? tblake 10-25-2008, 10:39 AM Yes, do a search of the leaky passenger side. Its a common problem. Mine had an inch of water after a hard rain. After about a 30 minute job, no more leaks. EVER! I just have to ask.... If your car was doing this ever since you had the tranny replaced, why didn't you just go right back and say "Do it again!"? I will see if I can find a trans electrical wiring diagram. Maybe they missed another ground. Does your car shift right now? Slam shifting? Starting in 3rd? Gunpowder93G_A_GT 10-25-2008, 01:42 PM Yes, do a search of the leaky passenger side. Maybe they missed another ground. Does your car shift right now? Slam shifting? Starting in 3rd? COOL!! Well....I was so fed up w/ the guy cause he was dragging his feet because of the money issue. It was a warranty job. He wanted ME to write a $2500 check that he would hold on to, while I went to the warranty company and told them I already paid so he could get his money right away. Ummm....NO. I pay my $100, they deal w/ it after that. When it started doing all that crap after getting it back from them, I didn't want thier fumble finger touching my car again. Heck, I think they also broke on of the air vents inside the car too. So as you can imagine, I was a bit peeved after I had to pay $195 to ANOTHER mechanic(One I trusted, but didn't do tranny replacement.) to find the problem. Yeah, it shifts. It's fine in first, but you have to let of the gas for it to shift around 40mph. If you don't, it'll go up to 55 and shift hard as hell. I don't know if it is starting in third or not. Gunpowder93G_A_GT 10-25-2008, 01:45 PM Oh, also, the shop was shut down about 2 months after I got it back....by the state of Florida Revenue Service....geee...I wonder why... tblake 10-25-2008, 10:25 PM Man oh Man! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
