92 Buick Electrical Problem

Hey people,

I'm not incredibly auto savvy and need some help. I recently took my car in for service. All my interior lights came on and wouldn't go off, this started draining my battery...then the dash lights went out.

I figured it was a compound thing, the alternator being the biggest one. However, the mechanics did a diagnostic check and the alternator was good.

I replaced a blown fuse, easy fix, and the dash lights came back on...and the interior lights stopped staying on all the time. I then put in a new battery...but still had to be jumped...so something maybe I have a short somewhere?

It also seems as if something might still be wrong with the alternator despite the clean check on diagnostics (battery drains as I drive, etc.).

Any help would be appreciated, greatly appreciated! Thanks!

K, sorry. It's a 92 Buick Limited Edition LeSabre with appx. 182,000 miles on it. I also wonder if perhaps there's a issue somewhere with a ground? Thanks again!
