Sorry!! What does it mean??

Anyhow, the Fujimi M3 is in poor shape and so I try to modify it. Fistly, it needs to make it "taller" since the model is in wrong shape. In addition, I also try (1st time) to make the glass by myself and the rear window need to be made it wider. The effect seems acceptable. I believe I can carry on the project.

Great progress so far with the modifications and much cheaper than using the Studio 27 Trans kit! How did you do the glass? It look excellent. Did you use a hairdryer to heat the plastic?

Hello Brother!! I heated the clear plastic by fire but in far distance and put it into the mold as quickly as possible.

The 1st and 2nd photos are I try to modify to the reasonable shape of M3. It seems OK. The 3rd photo is from Studio 27. The effect of adding Studio 27's trankits to Fujimi M3 is still unacceptable.

Great modification on your model! Look a lot more like the real thing now :)
Looking forward to see this baby done!

Let me try to explain as following.

(1) use gypsum to make the mold first.

(2) after the mold dried, add putty on the surface of the mold and sand it (while putty dried) until smooth.

(3) add head to the transparent plastic material (I use cooking heater) until it becomes soft

(4) press it in the mold as quickly as possible.

You can refer back to my photos. Should you have any futrher question, please let me know.

It is about time someone made an E30 Bmw with correct roof height.
The fujimi roof looks rediculous out of the box.
Keep it up!

winstonm3bmw

MidMazar: To be honest, I did not think such sort of modification would be workable too but it seems possible now.

Martin S: Yes, I can say the shape made by Fujimi is only 50% and buliders need offer another 50 % by ownself.

Nice work on the windows and bodywork. Its taking shape and looking great. I think the first set with rubber tires looks better suited to the m3s age. But if i was you i would maybe look into getting nice pe wheels from some place like scaleproduction. Either way can't wait for it to be finished.

Thanks brother. I am going to copy the body in some pieces since I plan to build 5-6 pieces M3 that all appeared in Macau Grand Prix before (year 1988,1989,1990,1991,1992). In this connection, all combinations (wheel + wing) would be applied.

That sounds like a sweet plan. I always wanted to get the studio 27 kit. I think this livery looks the coolest to me.............

Hello brother. I have never thought about it. If I do it, any problem relating to copy right issue??

Well, its not exactly a copy of somebody elses work, since you made your own body using existing kit as a base. I don't see how this could be a copyright issue. A lot of aftermarket companies do it every day.

M-Tuning
11-01-2009, 09:47 AM
I don't think it will be a copyright issue, as you have made a big change to the body.

I would certainly buy it from you!

I really like the first wheels, they fit nicely with the body.

As for copyright, it'd be an issue if it was an exact copy, but it's not. You can go ahead and cast it.

Thanks for your answer for copy right issue. Let me copy a piece first and see how is the effect. To be honest, I do not have any intention to make porfit and will only get back the cost if really fo sale in future.
