Trip to Berlin fetching the X5Menu dei Motori 03-16-2003, 03:13 AM Hi guys ok here are the pics and a small story Well it was a cold Saturday morning, me and my dad got up early at 4AM had a short breakfast and went to the airport with our 540. During day when people go to work it takes you about 90 minutes to get there. But on saturday mornigs streets are empty and we arrived after a new record of 31 minutes:p We parked and checked in and got onto the plane. After a drink of orange juice for me and a cofe for my dad we landed after 50 minutes in Berlin. We took a taxi driving to the car dealers home. He came out and after some small talk we drove 20 km through berlin to his showroom. We arrived at about 8.30 and this is the first picture ;) http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/260732P1010037(test).jpg Do you see the ferrari sign on the left next to the x5 ;) Ok we got in and ... http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/573262P1010038(test).jpg and here are some pics of the other cars in his small showroom http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/505994P1010039(test).jpg other view: sorry a bit dark... bad flashlight http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/918274P1010040(test).jpg here the wheel and x5 ac schnitzer exhaust system on the right side http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/863853P1010041(test).jpg here you badly see again the ferrari 348 targa Mercedes ML 400 cdi (i think) and another range rover http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/517270P1010042(test).jpg and here it is outside http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/372705P1010043(test).jpg again... http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/122490P1010044(test).jpg and again http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/623708P1010045(test).jpg We left the dealer and the first thing was to look for gas 90litre... quite empty... tank has 93 litre... ok we drove through berlin and we passed the "Brandenburger Tor" http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/849993P1010046(test).jpg driving home on the autobahn to munich (München ;) ) http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/755821P1010047(test).jpg after a nice lunch and some breaks we arrived at home at 17.30 after driving 650 KM well i drove 500 and my dad 150 ;) http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/905555P1010048(test).jpg another one in front of the garage http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/538852P1010049(test).jpg and here my 2 dogs http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/498440P1010050(test).jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/846096P1010051(test).jpg ok the trip was very nice and i´m very happy with the car. the paint is in very good condition. but the right wheels have some small scratches but really only small ones. and only 2 very very very small stone chips on the motor hood. we mostly drove about 150 kmh and well 10 litre diesel for 100km that´s ok! the automatic switches to 5th gear at about 160 and the acceleration well... i once arrived the 200kmh topspeed but after a kickdown of 5 min ;) you feel the 2.2 tons and bad aerodynamic. but for cruising it´s quite nice alltoghether a nice car more pics follow later! maybe in about 6 hours Menu dei Motori 03-16-2003, 03:26 AM well you cannot see the colour exactly in the fotos in real it´s much more clearer nicer and well more alive ;) the real colour you can see best on the first 2-3 pics it´s quite darker than on the pics of the x5 outside in front of the dealership... i´ll take a ride now texas360modena 03-16-2003, 12:10 PM Congrats on the new X5.....looks really nice ;) Porsche 03-16-2003, 02:36 PM VERY NICE, you said the X5 is a 3.0 diesel thoguh right? Or is it 3.0 gas? Correct me if I'm wrong but those look like 4.4i rims on there. You're awesome, three bimmers on the driveway, you don't get much more loyal than that. Menu dei Motori 03-17-2003, 05:03 AM porsche, there are and will be some mods done it already has a sportspackage (sportspackage includes these wheels also on 3.0, 3,0d and 4.4) the exhaust system looks like the exhaust from 4.6iS but it is an aftermarket ac-schnitzer exhaust system with really nice sound (not to loud!!!) the grating on the front is still the black one but we will put the chrome on from 4.4 or 4.6iS onto so it looks much nicer! and a chip-tuning ... about 225 PS instead of 184 and 480nm instead of 410. for about 800€ and thanks texas and porsche for your congrats :flash: tomorrow i´ll go to shcool with it... ;) Porsche 03-18-2003, 01:08 PM Ya, I really like the exhaust. I didn't know that the rims were interchangable like that though. Still cool all the same. Hopefulyl nobody will key it at school! :( Menu dei Motori 03-18-2003, 11:38 PM well nobody keyed it... we have some assholes who sometimes make ditches and open doors uncarefully.. but last time everythjing was fine! we also have many other "good cars" like 3 porsche boxster and a carrera and some z3... it´s a school where the pupils drive the better cars than the teachers  and you sometimes feel the envy of other pupils... but that´s life here in germany, as you know we have many nice cars like bmw audi porsche... but we also have lamborghini´s and ferrari´s but if you drive a lamborghini i heard from some friends they are getting wordly attacked and spit... why do people do that? in america driving a lamborghini.. then all people love you... here all people hate you...:( jsb88 03-18-2003, 11:56 PM if you drive a lamborghini i heard from some friends they are getting wordly attacked and spit... Well maybe its becaue you have German manufacturers and you are not bieng faithful to your country, buying a Porsche Turbo or BMW Z8? but then Ferrari owners would be attacked as well. J/K;) your jag is nice:) TexasF355F1 03-24-2003, 05:04 PM Glad you finally took possesion of the X5. It looks great, im guessing from some of your comments about scrapes on the wheel that it is used, how many miles or I guess since your in Germany, kilometers? Oh yea and your dogs are cool. Menu dei Motori 03-25-2003, 05:43 AM yea it is used the wife of the bmw dealer (there is only 1 official in berlin) had it for 5 month it has 17100 km when we got it. now it has about 18400 the scratches on the wheels are very small. there is always much brake dust on the wheels of all x5 so you don´t see them. i have many more pics on my computer but i´n to lazy to upload them ... later maybe jsb88 03-25-2003, 07:07 AM What breed are those dogs. Menu dei Motori 03-25-2003, 07:55 AM 2 beagles shame on you jsb that are english dogs:D these kinds of dogs go hunting with the royals ;) jsb88 03-25-2003, 08:06 AM I thought so, I just needed confirmation really. Very cute pair. Menu dei Motori 03-26-2003, 06:56 AM Originally posted by jsb88 I thought so, I just needed confirmation really. Very cute pair. thanks :flash: you also have a dog? i scrached my right front wheel again :-( i think i have to change it :( damn old lady on her bike went right over the street... and looked at me when i hit the curbstone.. shaked her head and drove away... jsb88 03-26-2003, 07:49 AM I have a black labrador called Julius, but I want a new dog, he is old and crazy... nomerce... 03-26-2003, 11:16 PM Hey Menu dei Motori, Can you tell me wich chiptuner produces the chip wich gives the 3.0d 225 HP??? And will they take over all warranties from BMW or is it just bad luck when you destroy you're engine..?? And Hello all, just foud out about this forum...because of the amount of postings is it possible that this question is already answered, but I couldn't find it.....sorry when that is the case...and NICE forum... Greetings, Henk Menu dei Motori 03-27-2003, 03:21 AM hi, we will take the x5 to http://www.lorenz-tuning.de it´s only a german site. it will have 235 ps after that and 575nm they rise the boost pressure and the and the quantity of fuel injection. there was a test in a german car magacine. the x5 3.0d had the 20 wheels of the x5 4.6is with 315 on the back. it accelerated in 8.5 seconds from 0-100kmh (about 62 mph) that´s 0,1 second faster than the mercedes ml 400 cdi i´m not sure if i could help you but here in germany we have about 10 tuners or more who offer 3.0d chips. nomerce... 03-27-2003, 02:28 PM Thnks for your quick answer, I've found some info about the guarantee. Baugruppe Bezeichnung der Teile Motor Zylinderblock, Kurbelgehäuse, Zylinderkopf, Zylinderkopfdichtung sowie alle mit dem Ölkreislauf in Verbindung stehende Innenteile. Schalt- und Automatikgetriebe Getriebegehäuse und alle Innenteile, einschließlich Drehmomentwandler. Achsgetriebe Achsgetriebegehäuse (Front- und Heckantrieb) und alle Innenteile my german is not too good, but as I understand it the quarantee covers all damage at all moving parts...?? I was most afraid about the automatic gearbox, I thought that was the most critical part, 575 Nm must be about enough torque :D for a automatic qearbox... Menu dei Motori 03-28-2003, 04:53 AM i have now email contact to them they can offer 2 different versions but i still don´t know what they exactly change. i asked them. so when i know i can post it here if you want. yea they have a big guarantee list with yea all moving parts my english is too bad to translate all that technical stuff. i would have to look every word in my technical english lexikon :D jsb88 03-28-2003, 07:40 AM This is a frankly crap internet translation... Building group label of the parts motor cylinder block, crank housing, cylinder head, cylinder head sealing as well as all interior parts standing with the oil circulation in connection. Gearshift and Automatikgetriebe gear-box and all interior parts, :( Shame it makes no sense. Stefanel1 03-30-2003, 06:21 AM Nice X5... the red is not very discreet but nice though. And you dogs too :D Menu dei Motori 03-30-2003, 06:30 AM well we wanted that it does not look discreet. a black or silver x5 you see all 5 mins on the street but the imolared II is normally only available for the 4.6iS and 99,99% are not red. so you really get a bit attention. next weeks we´ll put a chip into and we will build the exterior parts of the x5 4.6iS on it... next week i´ll post more pics... but i´m learning math right now and have no time to resize all the pics CamaroSSBoy346 06-19-2003, 07:23 PM du spreche deutsch? :bigthumb: Nice BMW Stefanel1 06-19-2003, 07:29 PM Du spricht Deutsch ? :D :D ;) Entschuldigung, my German is not perfect so I'll stop there !
