Nobody pushing the limit anymore?Schludwiller 03-15-2003, 08:25 PM Bueler?:D superjens 03-16-2003, 12:17 AM The other day I drove another 20 kms after my low fuel light came on. I *live* on the edge. nflxterra 03-16-2003, 05:40 AM yesterday,,, sniff sniff , i'm going to need 6 mo. rehab, i let my sister-in-law drive my X in 4wheel drive. I'm the only one who gets to cherish that now it's been tarnished, luckily no animals or people were injured in this event. rrdstarr 03-16-2003, 09:00 PM I almost slid of the road going over Mullan pass (MT/ID boarder I-90) on Friday evening!:D Alay510 03-19-2003, 06:11 PM i go wheeling about once/twice a week but i have no camera. anyone willing to donate a digital camera will be welcome, consider it a donation to the forum and a benefit to everyone. with my schedule i have yet to make it to any sccx meets though :(. last week a boulder did a pretty good job on the underside of my front bumper, not really noticable but quite ugly if you crawl underneath. stupid fascia... 4wheelinX 03-20-2003, 09:09 AM According to MA Law here:(which I just learned of) http://www.state.ma.us/legis/laws/mgl/90-7P.htm I am only allowed 2" of lift up/down. Well I have a total of 5" of lift and 33's. I am pretty much screwed for state inspection sticker etc. The only good thing is that my tires don't stick out of the wheel well. Hoping the local law enforcement goes easy on me.....this state sucks plain and simple. rrdstarr 03-20-2003, 11:14 AM Originally posted by 4wheelinX According to MA Law here:(which I just learned of) http://www.state.ma.us/legis/laws/mgl/90-7P.htm I am only allowed 2" of lift up/down. Screw the state and keep your truck lifted! you didn't do anything to emissions so SCREW'EM!!!! Schludwiller 03-20-2003, 04:01 PM Buy a set of really small tires, drop the torsion bars and remove the shackles if you have any extended ones. Should take you a day to undo, inspect, and redo everything to get your truck back on the road. Oh, and put some sandbags in the rear. :D Alay510 03-20-2003, 11:46 PM i live in california, are there any cali-residents that know if these laws/restrictions exist here? i doubt it because i see LOTS of lifted trucks on the freeways, but just curious. even if i do find out it's illegal, i personally have no problem with breaking that rule. 4wheelinX 03-21-2003, 08:51 AM Schlud, Don't have extended shackles, got the SLR spring pack.... I might try borrowing some stock tires, adjusting the torsion bars, and adding weight to the rear if it comes to that. This weekend I am going to go to a few inspection stations and just see what happens. Maybe one dude will be into 4x4's and give me a sticker.....Wish me luck. Alay510, Try searching online for the lift laws....quick and dirty method. If no luck just call the RMV. Just had to find the right garage away from the big city.....I'm good to go for another year. Now I can go to ECXC. Thanks for everyones help. 4wheelinX 06-10-2003, 12:39 PM Stormy and 3cotes 4wheelinX 06-10-2003, 12:40 PM some flex Schludwiller 06-11-2003, 04:03 AM Nice looking truck. I'm surprised you tug from the ARB hi-lift points though. Have they bent on you, or do you spread the pull between the two? I still like to play it safe and use the frame hooks. 4wheelinX 06-11-2003, 08:22 AM I'll only pull straight on the ARB tabs. Other wise I won't use them at all. Only used them once actually. Prefer the rear tow points. Haven't put a hook up front yet because I am on the fence about getting a winch or no winch...anyway. Thanks. Schludwiller 06-11-2003, 06:12 PM I love having a winch. Saved my ass at least 3 times now. rrdstarr 06-11-2003, 06:20 PM Saved my own ass the first time out with it! Straighened ChuckH's ARB bumper with it too! 4wheelinX 06-12-2003, 08:18 AM What did you end up getting for a winch and have you had any problems with it....???? :bigthumb: rrdstarr 06-12-2003, 08:09 PM Originally posted by 4wheelinX What did you end up getting for a winch and have you had any problems with it....???? :bigthumb: Schlud and I have the Warn XD9000.....great winches. Take care of the cable after you use it. Rewind it up properly! OffroadX 06-12-2003, 09:40 PM Be kind, rewind! :D Schludwiller 06-16-2003, 04:24 PM I think the XD9000 was between $800-900. When I bought it, it came with a free winch accessory bag. The only problem I had with the winch was user error when we were winching 3 trucks up the side of a mountain (very long story). The interior cable end I jerry-rigged came off, so we got some free cable flying around inside and that messed up the re-coil of the line. Good winch though. Just keeps going.....
