2000 RamVan1500 no heat,Help!!!

I've got a 200 Ramvan 1500 elk conversion, V-6 automatic, no overdrive, among other problems that this elephant has, now I've got no heat and it's in the 40's at night now, All it's doing is blowing cold air. I checked the lines going to the heatercore and they are both hot. Radiator is full, temp gauge show about 190 or so. I figure the damper door isnt opening, Where is the heater control valve located and is it vacuum operated or (god forbid) electrical??? This van has been nothing but problems from day one when I got it 3 years ago, mostly all electrical problems.and rearend is humming too now, only showing 107,000 miles, I'm going back to Ford. Help, I need HEAT.:crying:

It's electric and it's easily accessible once you pull out the glove box interior.

Im guessing you already checked all the fuses. There is a heater fuse for the fans and blower that goes out

my 1997 ford ranger blew the heater core relay once. I changed it and it worked again!

yes like he said pull out glove box then you can tell if the damper is opening you should be able to see whole thing on opening. if you see it open you got other troubles. ok can you feel the cold air coming threw at top where the heat should come out? that will tell you the damper is opening. and can you hear moter fan?

The blower is working, even tho it only works on the high setting, but that I know is the blower motor resistor. I can switch from vent to defrost and floor but it just blows cold air, where ever I set the dial to. It's like the heater core is closed off or something. I can't afford to take it in to get fixed. I'm unemployed at the moment and barely making it. I can fix it myself but need alittle help. Help!!!

So pull out the glove box and observe the damper for movement, then let us know if it moves or not.

Thanks for all the help from everyone. The rod that hooks to the damper door hingeunder the hood was rusted solid and froze and causing the door to stay in one position as it would be when the air cond. is on. I sprayed it with WD-40 and tapped it with a long screwdriver(you can't reach it with your fingers) and it broke loose and immediately moved, opening the damper door and now I have all the heat I want. I don't know why that part rusted, it was just plain bare metal, but it's way up under the hood and to the best of my knowledge, not exposed to any rain or water. So if you happen to have the same problem, check that steel rod coming out of the firewall on the passenger side up over the A.C. box and spray it down with some WD-40 or PB Blaster and gently tap it loose with a screwdriver, it might just save you a bunch of money that a repair shop would charge. This was a 2 minute fix, mechanical not electrical. Kenny.:)
