93 SC2 Starting issues

Gonna start this story from go for ya ... friend knew my other vehicle was dying so they said they have the SC2 for sale wanted to let me look at it and decide from there. The story was they parked it after the slave cylinder went out, which he later replaced after getting the vehicle home on the starter. So we bump started the vehicle that day and heard a noise from the bottom and was able to feel that the starter was loose on the motor.

So today after paying it off and getting another starter for it I go down, find the battery is stone dead, but figure pop the starter in then bump it again. Found the starter had the top bolt about ready to fall out of the case and the bottom ear/casing to be broken off with what looked to be a fairly newly replaced starter on the motor from the salvage yard markings. Got it started by bump after replacing the starter, but the battery was showing no signs of life and it still has the noise in the engine/trans area.

So I pulled the battery to get it fully charged since they replaced that in April, and was wondering if there is anything else I should be thinking of taking with me when I go back down sides probably a tow truck.....

Any and all help or comments are appreciated- even the I-told-you-so's and you get what you pay for. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Fulle tune up is needed.

Fix the starter
Replace the ECTS with a brass one. Your car has two sensors. Replace the one with the two wire sensor.

Wanted to give you a conclusion on this one ... charged the battery, 2 new battery bolts and the vehcle came to life and has driven for the past day just fine.

As its driven the noise is lessening, still letting me believe that its material in the clutch area. Now to find a clutch cover that I can pull off without pulling the entire trans and I can investigate the last of it.

I will do the CTS and tune up with the next paycheck in two weeks, as usual thanks for all the excellent advice that is dead on as usual.
