1994 Saturn Fuel System Problems

I own a 1994 Saturn SL2 that has just under 150,000 miles. About a month ago I started to notice that my gas mileage went from about 28mpg to 21mpg and that when I accelerate I can hear and feel that it is having a hard time. Now when I go to start the car I have to pump the gas pedal to get it started (it is an automatic). I read a few other posts that have said to change the ECTS, but I don't know what that is or where I would find that. If you have any suggestions that would help.

Had a full tune up in July with replacement of serpintine belt. Tried a new fuel filter this last week too.

The CTS is the one below the upper hose on the head with two wires comming out of it.

Do you think that it could be the O2 sensor or the mass air flow sensor? I had someone else tell me that either of those could be the problem.

The o2 sensor does nothing untill the PCM goes into Closed loop fuel delivery. This doesnt happen untill the ECTS says so :) So...no i dont think its the o2. Also, if the o2 is bad it sets of an SES light. When the ECTS goes bad, the car sets off NO SES light.

Also there is no mass air flow sensor on the s-series :)

Spend 14.50 at the dealer and get a new ECTS :)
