Help, my 01 Lesabre has the driver's side dash pad popping up where it meets the plastic piece under the windshield. Has anyone else had this problem before? Is it glued down, or does the plastic front piece hold it down? Thanks.

Hi I have the same problem with my 01 Lesabre. I put a strip of double sided tape under the raised area. It will stick for a day or so, then the hot sun will soften the tape and the dash will pop up again. I tried to glue a dash down on another car once, but I just made a mess on top of the dash working in such a tight area. I would guess the best method is to remove the windshield and glue the dash, but that seems like too much effort. If you discover a easy fix, let me know.

What kind of double sided tape did you use? I think I might try the one that's supposed to hold up bodyside moldings. Was thinking about using some kind of superglue, but they all say it won't work on foam or fabric. Also, does the plastic panel closest to the windshield come off somehow?

I find it disturbing that a company as old as GM cant get a dashboard right. I mean come on....A dashboard! :disappoin

Have any of you guys with the Buick pop up dash recently gotten any work done on your cars like AC work that required dash removal. Mi dash popped up a while back only after I had work done on my AC.

I had a 90 LeSabre that did that to. We just used cable ties and yanked it down to the metal part below the plastic. May not look the best but it keeps it outta the way. another thing, to prevent it from happening on new cars, use a silver sun visor to block sunlight, even in the winter. That will help it last alot longer.

I bought mine (2001 custom) a couple of months ago, and the dash was poped exactly at the same place (were it meets the plastic under the windshield), and when I saw it I thought the previous owner threaded some tracking device antena or something. Anyway a week after i decided to do something about it, so I took the dash off (took me about 2.5 hours) and found that it was poping like a 30 years old car  (aging), I used leather kind glue when the dash was completely out, and put alot of clothes and bricks at them to hold it while the glue dry.
few hours later, I took it back to the car and assembled back the dash (took me less hours this time  ).
Sa far it looks good, but i guess the real test is next summer, under 86F sun.
