97 Blazer engine replacement Now getting P1351jdrobbins 09-29-2008, 09:06 PM Hello again, I finally got everything hooked up tonight and tried to fire it up and it will try to fire but won't start. Checked codes and I am getting a p1351, cleared 3 times always the same code. I know I am on TDC. Is it possible I am on exhaust TDC ? Would it still try to fire? I bought a long block rebuild and moved everything else over. Vin W New MAP sensor New Oil press sensor New Coolant Temp sensor New Plugs New Wires Your help is appreciated. Thanks mike2004tct 09-29-2008, 09:57 PM Hello again, I finally got everything hooked up tonight and tried to fire it up and it will try to fire but won't start. Thanks It's possible to have the distributor off 180 degrees. P1351 code is a High Voltage spike, and is 1 of 4 items. Ignition Module, cam sensor (inside distributor) bad connection in harness from module to computer (VCM) [pin #9 on white connector, or bad computer. You can check for erratic spark at the number 1 plug with a timing light to verify this. If spark is good, and consistant, dist. might be off. If spark is erratic (not consistant), in my case it was the VCM. jdrobbins 09-30-2008, 08:06 PM Well got this problem fixed, Don't Ask Ok, I will tell you The coil wire and the # 6 cylinder wires were crossed on the Dist. Ok dumb as& me Thanks mike2004tct 09-30-2008, 09:45 PM Well got this problem fixed, Don't Ask Ok, I will tell you The coil wire and the # 6 cylinder wires were crossed on the Dist. Ok dumb as& me Thanks I remember some "Friends" of mine doing a prank similar to that. Swapped the #1 wire with the coil wire. Car would fire on 1 cylinder, but wouldn't start. Funny guys, I tell ya. Glad it was something simple before you started throwing $$$ at it. Ok dumb as& me Thanks Thanks for posting back what it was. Do not feel bad a lot of people do things like that at times. Just a reminder if not already done. The dist camshaft retard setting needs to be checked/adjusted on a engine capable scanner after it is up and running. Good Luck vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
