I have a 1996 olds cierra that has been running fine I filled up yesterday. Car cranked fine but quit before i got out of parking lot. the fuse under the hood, the one close to the right headlight had blown. I replaced it but now it will blow again after a few minutes driving. Any help would be appreciated. I assume this is a fuel pump fuse. thanks again, polaris51

Maybe maybe not, find out exactly what that fuse is for and post back.

Did research and this fuse is for the fuel pump. Also the check engine light is on, is there an easy way to check the codes? Thanks polaris51

You need to have the car scanned, for the code. You will need a wiring diagram to track down a short in the FP circuit.

Could be the wiring. Could be the fuel pump.
On my '87 Ciera, 2.5L, there is a stray lead that goes to the fuel pump on the wiring harness right near the master cylinder.
I understand the wire is used to power up the fuel pump at the factory.
I imagine it's possible for the lead to get loose, ground out, and short the fuse, but I'm betting the fuel pump is shorting out.
