I have a 99 Park Avenue Ultra. I have to replace the SC belt. I've done this before on Bonnevilles and other Buicks. I've removed the lower motor mount nut. When I try to remove the stud, I cannot withdraw it from the mount becasue it hits the frame.
Any ideas?

If you slide the stud all the way back against the frame, you should be able to pry, or knock the spacer out from between the block & bracket and then install the belt. Are you saying that the stud will not clear the spacer?

Yes, as far as I can tell. It feelslike the spacer is hitting the stud.

Sorry for the delayed response! Is the spacer loose, but will not come out? What if you remove the long bolt from the "dogbone" engine mount and place a jack under the oil pan (with a piece of plywood between the jack and pan) and jack the engine up, would it clear?
