2001 deville engine swap

does anyone know if engine can be pulled alone or if i have to pull trans with it

Welcome to AF. Most engine set ups of this type are dropped as unit though the bottom of the car after the subframe and suspension are removed, I don't know what equipement and facility access you have but this is a difficult job without a fully equipped shop.
