Hey all I don't know what is going on with my GC it is the 4.0 6 with 178,000 miles on it now and I just changed the fuel pump on it last week because it would start then stall out. The only way to keep it running is by holding the gas pedal down to make it idle. It's just fine on the highway. But when I stop it will stall out. this is now an intermittant problem and I am a bit frustrated considering I was told to replace the fuel pump for 180$ :( and it still is not working. ANY help would be great!

Since it is only doing it at idle and not going down the road i would try the idle air control motor. It should be by the throttle body. It'll have two torque head screws holding it on and i think it has a four wire connector. If you take it off try to move the plunger on it. Normally if they are bad it won't move easily or it wont move at all. They're kind of expensive but this would be the next place i'd look.

I am confused now. :( I replaced the crank position sensor and it worked for the having to crank it to start. It worked about three times and now it is back to where I have to cycle the ignition to start it. Could it be the PCM

Sounds like a bad TPS

That is very possible that it is the TP sensor. I have a Geo and i was haveing a similar problem for a wile. It was the TP sensor going bad at the time and now it is bad on my car.

I think my dad just replaced the TPS in May of this year but I will look into it and probably change it out anyway.
