Hi guys, Im new to this forum.
I just recently got a 1995 crown vic
Nice car but i was wondering where I could acquire a locking rear axle.
Which cars had locking rears.

Ive read a few posts on here about the police cars.
I thought all the p71's had Trac Loc.
Most of the ones Ive seen in the junk yard do not.
Was track loc a weird option for Canada and northern areas or am i just looking in the wrong place.

Is there any body who can clue me in to where all the 8.8 Locking diffs are?

First of all if your car has abs breaks then dont waste your time with the locker. Other then that you can find a locking 8.8 diff on v8 mustangs, older and newer crown vics and ford pick-ups. All you need to do is check the axel code on the door sticker. Most P71's without abs do.

you can buy a used trac-lok on ebay. personally, i would recommend only using a new one. you can buy a ford racing one for not that much money on many online retailers. if you plan to change the rear gears in your car at all, get some new ones now. a tech installing the trac-lok will charge the same whether he is putting back in your original gears or new ones. it is the same process.

expect to pay $400-600 for the install.

trac-lok is amazing in the winter and for overall traction. i highly recommend it. very few p71s had trac-lok from the factory. maybe 10-20%.
