1993 JGC Missfiringlaloquera 09-24-2008, 11:20 PM I have a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I’m having it smog this weekend (CA). Anyways, I’m having a slight misfire, my RPM's Jump down and up right about 2, 2.5 or 3 RPMS. I’m doing about 60 to 65 MPH. I’m doubting that it will pass smog with the misfire, or am I looking another unknown issue? Already, gave a tune up, oil, filter, spark plugs, cap & rotor and wire set. Any feed back will be appreciated. Laloquera Triksr4kds 09-25-2008, 12:57 AM Could be your TPS, but if it's not throwing a CEL, it should pass. Here in Colorado, I've never had a problem passing emissions as long as there is no CEL and the gas cap is good... laloquera 09-25-2008, 03:11 AM Do you recomend for me to switch my TPS, or do I check it if possible? Whats a cell? Thanx laloquera:popcorn: Triksr4kds 09-26-2008, 03:02 PM Yeah, change it out and see if that helps it. A CEL is Check Engine Light.... laloquera 09-26-2008, 06:17 PM No Cel going off. TPS, is that the one thats located on the outer upper brim on the transmission? Im gotta weird feeling my fuel injector if not one maybe shrting out, (maybe). laloquera bigd7315 09-28-2008, 10:37 PM if no check engine light it is probally the fuel pump or regulator mine was doing the same thing just replace the fuel pump and regulator today I did the regulator first and no cure so I went further to th fuel pump and go ahead and save alot of headache and buy the assembly from advance the pump only won't work it is way too short and is a different design that I could not make work the assembly is like 180 bucks or so the regulator is like 65 hope this helps laloquera 10-02-2008, 02:42 AM Pass smog today with flying colors, YEAH BABY! Im guessing I dont have a miss fire issue, but another with my RPM's. Know what, any other ideas. Thanx Laloquera vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
