Check for power and ground in the electrical connector at the seat switch.

Make sure the battery is fully charged. It should be around 12 to 12.5 volts. If it is fully charged, a reading of 8 volts at the seat connector is too low. Check for a poor connection in the feed wire and/or ground wire. There is a connector under the carpet in the drivers feet area that has been known to cause problems with corrosion.
