The other day, the Gas gauge and Heater/AC controlls stopped. Checked the fuses in the cab and under the hood(all good). Also, the check engin light will not come on during start ups. The temp. gauge and Spedometer still work fine. Any Ideas would be a huge help.

First check the electrical connections and ground wires of the inst panel (back of the gauge cluster).

The Heat and A/C have a fuseable link in common, but I don't see any tie-in to the gas gauge. It could be 2 different problems.

That would be a big coincidence it they werent linked somhow right. I have had this truck for 7 years and have replaced most everything on it(mechanically), but never had two things go wrong like this at once, and I'm definitely less experienced with the electrical stuff. Thanks for the advice, you seem to be the go to guy on these threads. I appreciate it! So, is there any easy way to get to the inst. cluster you speak of?

There's 4-6 screws that hold the trim on, then another 4-6 screws that hold the cluster in. Then you can pull the cluster out enough to reach behind and disconnect the speedo cable (squeeze 2 tabs together). Then cluster comes out farther so you can get to the cables.

Starting ripping it apart today and found the fuse that burned out. there was actually one more fuse back behind an extended fuse in the box that I never knew existed because of the longer fuse. Replaced the fuse and now both the Heater and Gas gauge work. thanks for your help!
