92' cavalier turned race car, Cylinode problemsStarks104 09-17-2008, 03:38 PM Me and my old man build a stock car out of a 92 cavalier Witch we race in halifax, Scotia speedworld if anyone is fimiliar with that! we have recently just raced a 50 laper as a season finalie, Car was amazing in the beginning of the race but the last 15 laps or so the car just lost most of its power, were i should be hitten the rev limiter 3-4 times going into turn 3, the car would just barely hit it the once in the end of the race and bog right out once i let off the gas. Once the race was over and i shut the car off in the pits, No way in hell would it start again. We later discovered it was just the cylinode on the starter that got really really hot because of such a long race. The car wouldent even start for about a week. Would anyone have any suggestions in what we could gear up or even some kind of material we could wrap the cylinode in to keep it from getting so hot?! And also would the cylinode gettin as hot as it was would that make the car bog out and loose power as much as it was towerds the end of the race? Any Suggestins!!
