So just a couple of weeks ago I was in my back yard and noticed a light flash from my garage. I went to check it out and the lights on my girlfriends 2001 GC were on. She was out there with me too so we know her keyfab wasn't the issue. This has happened two other times since. I have cleaned the battery connecters, but that hasn't fixed it. I'm assuming there is probably a short somewhere. Has anyone else ever experienced this sort of issue? If so what was the fix? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated and yes I know electrical problems can be a nightmare.

All the lights or just the headlights or tailights or turn signals or brake lights. What happens when you wiggle the headlamp switch?

ok I was wrong it's the headlights and taillights. Also when you open the door the dash lights turn on. Turn the car on then off they shut off. Otherwise they stay on.

It's probably a faulty multifunction switch causing the Automatic Headlights to activate. Turn the headlight switch to the Auto Headlights Off position and see what happens.

I have a 2001 grand cherokee and I was driving it the other day and when I stopped the lights wouldnt go off . Also the radio contro;s on the sterring wheel stopped working , could this be the same problem? Did you find your problem ?
