It'll bolt in, but you will want to use stronger front springs than what it will likely have - even a 9C1 will likely have worn springs - but you will have to do some other modifications. Stick with nothing newer than 1988 - your 396 will be carbed and the '89-'90 uses EFI (and an in-tank fuel pump). This is to make it easier. Plus, you will need to redo the exhaust. gula187 09-15-2008, 05:55 PM i probably drop down to a 383 im trying to deal with the least mods i can gatoratoy227 09-21-2008, 04:43 AM if you're planning on putting a big block in that you want to put a set of heavier (thicker diameter) coil springs under the front end a progressive rate spring will do wonders for your handeling and ride comfort vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
