98 yukon dies after startup when its cold outredbull660 09-01-2008, 02:35 PM I have a 1998 yukon, when it is cold out like around 50 degrees and colder it will start up and then die right away. You have to keep starting it and then when it fires off you have to hit the gas pedal at the right time and it will stay running. It did it all last winter even after I installed a new fuel pump and filter. Could it be the fuel regulator that is located under the intake. thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated. maxwedge 09-01-2008, 04:01 PM Get a pressure gage on it and look for 60-65 psi. redbull660 09-01-2008, 04:48 PM Ok I will, but will a fuel regulator cause this to happen, I would like to know a little something about the problem before I take it to the Stealership. :crying: 2000CAYukon 09-02-2008, 12:00 AM Like maxwedge said, fuel pressure during starting should be checked. If this only happenes when it is cold outside, you should have it scanned and look to see what the Engine Coolant Temp sensor is reporting to the PCM. The engine needs more fuel when cold and if the ECT sensor is wrong, it could cause a stall when cold at startup. //2000CAYukon vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
