I own a crown vic P71, went to the dealer ask if there's any recall he said yes, he then ask for my vin number he said that the PCM needs to be reflashed, and something with the throttle body, but he said, it probably expired since it's been 7 years, look like he didn't wanna help. Is it true that it does expire. THANKS IN ADVANCE

I have heard the same time frame. I think they do expire.

recalls for flashing the pcm are usually called silent recalls unless you complain they don't do them. Safety or emmission recalls I don't think expire but then again maybe they do

Thanks guys.Reason I asked, is if the PCM control transmission shift points, seems to be good for a day or two, then acts up, by shifting fast at light acceleration. So do you think if I had it reflashed it may help. Forgot to mention I'm getting no slipping or shudder.

Recalls from the Federal government do not expire. However there is one exception to that rule, automakers are not required to make free repairs if they are first discovered 8 years after manufacture.
