My 92 Supreme S 3.1 has a squeak/creak/rattle in the front right corner.

Squeak:
1. Squeaks/Creaks/rattles even when car is off and I bounce it a little.
2. Squeaks/Creaks/rattles just after engine is turned off but before it totally stops turning.
3. My thoughts are that the problem is either the inner CV joint or the transmission. I hesitate to think it's the transmission because it makes the noise even when the car is off.
4. There is no popping noise whatsoever when I turn so that makes me doubt my diagnosis of a CV joint, however. Also, it still makes the noise even when the car is sitting still and off.

Any ideas would be welcome. I am a relatively new weekend mechanic.

OK -- Solved the problem. It was a small piece of the heat shield that was rubbing on the frame. Bent it back a little and no more noise. Problem was that the noise would occur when weight was placed on the vehicle. Didn't want to do that when I was under it.
