88' sierra tail lights stay on

my mom gave me a 88' 1500 and there was a problem with the tail lights brake lights, whenever you park and turn the truck off the brake lights would remain on until u jiggled or pull back on the brake pedal. i just recently let my friend borrow it so he could move and he forgot to jiggle the pedal and it killed my battery and burnt the brake light bulb on the driver side, he wants to buy the truck but he wants me to fix this problem first. dont know how.

also the radio control box under the dash used to be loose the radio would go on and off i gave it a could push and its been ok for about a month now does anyone know any thing about it.

it sounds like your brake light switch

A simple adjustment of the brake-light switch towards the brake pedal arm should solve the problem. Check to make sure the clip the switch is held in with is tight.
