abs light and transmission problem 95 cutlass conv.tekwiz 08-22-2008, 05:02 PM I have a problem with my red brake light and yellow abs light. After starting my engine both lights go on then off like their supposed to. But after I start rolling the car they both come on and stay on. About the same time this started I noticed my transmission wont shift into its highest gear. The car will push 4000 + RPMs to go 55. For some reason the OD wont kick in, I am wondering if the abs/brakes and tranny problem are tied to the same trans and/or speed sensor or are they 2 different problems. ?Thoughts? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: maxwedge 08-22-2008, 08:59 PM A full scan with both a trans function and abs scanner will point you towards what is going on here. tekwiz 08-23-2008, 09:22 AM Update: Last night I noticed my cruise control switch was pushed in(on) When I disengaged it both the brake lights went out and the tranny started shifting fine. Weird! Am planning to spend some quality time today to run down the wiring schematic. I would like to get it scanned but a GM dealer will cost $$$$$ nobody else seems to have a reasonably priced scanner to pull abs codes. Is there a sensor that is shared by the cruise control and ABS system??? maxwedge 08-23-2008, 09:51 AM No. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
