No, Sorry there are no codes or proceedures to program the air to come out of the center dash vents. If air only blows out of the defrost or floor vents Then the system is in default mode and there is a promlem with either the electrical-mechanical or vacumm-mechanical actuators. Now it would do good to retreive the diagnostic code(s) from the on-board computer to direct you to a specific actuator, as there are several. Good luck!

Ive been informed that this is the normal operation on most cadillacs. They designed it this way on purpose to keep hot/warm air from blowing at the face of the driver. This is primarily ment to keep elderly/older people from falling assleep at the wheel while driving. (Most of new cadillac purchases are made by older customers) Studies have found out that warm directed at the face has a tendency to cause peolple to fall asleep more, especially on long trips.

That is interesting sharpnshine; and suprisingly believable. Me personally, I can't stand warm air being blown on my face but I have heard that schools keep the classrooms cooler to prevent students from falling asleep.

ya i actually checked up on at the dealership and they told me that heat was never designed to blow out the center vents, but ya that does make a good point cadillacs are comfortable cars to drive in and when your warm, you tend to get tired.

You know whats crazy is I'm the total opposite. As a matter of fact, that's probably the only reason I woke up when my house (room) caught on fire some 12 years ago! The fire department was amazed that I woke up due to how much black smoke I had inhaled, which of course can kill you. When they asked me what woke me up I simply replied, "because I was hot"! Now cold weather, I'm out like a light though...
