04 jeep cherokee 4.0l I6..... Can a lifter be replace without removing cylinder head.

no it cannot, you would have to remove the head to get to the lifter

hope your not a flat rate tech.

thats bad advice, yes they can be replaced with out pulling the head. it makes it easyer if you buy the removal tool from the tool truck, but you can do it with out it.

Good luck trying to replace a lifter on the 4.0L without removing the head... maybe on the 2.5L 4cyl, but you wont be able to do it on the 4.0 without removing the head.

Hold on,I know how to get the lifters out without pulling the head.Pull the camshaft out and they will fall into the oil pan.
I'm being a smart-ass in case anyone thought otherwise.

Have you ever replaced a lifter on the 4.0 I6 before? I need to replace one but I am trying to do it as easy as possible. Could use some info.. thanks

You really have to pull the head off to replaced the lifters.
