WTF! My 2000 Sentra Did NOT Pass Smogtraffic_tom 08-15-2008, 12:09 PM Ok so heres the deal.....I took my 2000 Sentra SE to get a smog check....I live in California..so I passed all the emissions tests....but I have a check enginge code on the computer....now the check engine light is NOT on....just a code on the computer...So my car did not pass because of this! I said to the guy "so any car in california that has a check engine light/code on will not pass smog" he said thats correct. Does this sound right to you guys? Chiquae07 08-17-2008, 04:05 PM thats not just california, thats everywhere that does obdII testing for emissions. if it disappeared, go get it tested before it pops back on so you pass, and get it checked out. i would say autozone or advance can tell you what the codes are for free, but when some people say this is the problem, i wouldnt trust it too much. came on and came off....when was the last time you got gas, and when did the code pop up? might be as simple as making sure your gas cap is closedall the way, and check the seal on it. otherwise, you might need a enw one. nismo_pilot 08-17-2008, 05:54 PM go buy yourself a pocket scanner and make sure you dont have any two trip codes that have only registered once, it would be in memory but the light wouldnt be on, a pretty stupid way to fail an emissions test vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
