tachometer?bhw33191 08-02-2008, 12:44 AM I got a Sun Pro Super Tach II and i hooked everything up just like it said, but no success. The green wire is hooked up to the plug labeled "tach" on the distributor, black is ground, and red is connected "temporarily" to an open 12V fuse thing on the fuse box. What did i do wrong? beat88ls 08-02-2008, 12:56 AM you sure its grounded well? when i did mine i had problems finding a good ground. i also hooked the power into the fuse panel. bhw33191 08-02-2008, 01:00 AM yeah it must be a bad ground silicon212 08-02-2008, 01:32 AM When I use a tach, I ground it to the engine, connect red to the battery and then the green to the tach bleedoff. Never had a problem with it like this. bhw33191 08-02-2008, 02:41 PM WELL, i'm dumb. apparently on the back of the tach theres a switch for 4,6, and 8 cylindar engines anddd it was set on 0 somehow. So now it works, but i have one question, if i hook the red wire to an empty spot on the fuse box, will this drain the battery or do i have to unplug it every time i turn off the car? j cAT 08-02-2008, 05:05 PM WELL, i'm dumb. apparently on the back of the tach theres a switch for 4,6, and 8 cylindar engines anddd it was set on 0 somehow. I used the radio feed wire, this will be off when ignition off also the fusing of this is low amperage...which is compatible with tach use.. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
