Update!bhw33191 08-01-2008, 11:47 PM So after hours of tinkering, i find that the wire loom that goes to the ECM had been sitting on top of the burning hot exhaust manifold and began to melt. Therefore, melting the small vacuum line that goes to what i believe is the MAP sensor which sits right on top of the passenger wheel well. There was only a small hole in the line but enough so that when i hooked my vacuum gauge up it read "0". When it was running and i put my finger on the hole, the rpm's began to go higher and the gauge went up to 17. I read in my Haynes manual that its suppose to get only 10PSI? Is this an issue to be getting almost double the pressure? And also, the check engine light stopped coming on after i fixed this and the ECM read no error codes. Also, vacuum isn't measured in PSI, it's measured in In/Hg (inches of mercury). 17 In/Hg is pretty standard and if you are getting that at idle, congratulations.
