I'm having a bit of trouble separating the engine from the trans. I've got 5 engine to trans bolts out on the driver side, and one removed on the passenger side. I took off 3 torque converter to flywheel bolts, don't see anymore. I've got the case open about 1/8 - 1/4" but I can't get it to open anymore without really cranking down on it. I've got the trans supported by a jack and the engine by a hoist. I'm pretty sure they're level to each other.
If I try to put more force to it I hear a kind of metal on metal creak and then it pops back. I just want to be sure I'm not bending or breaking anything before I put more force to it. I'm afraid to use heat because the fuel line connects are right there as well as the wire harness.

So it's 6 engine to trans bolts and 3 torque converter bolts so far. Is there anything I missed or do I just use more force?

I found it.

I got it separated but I also forgot to remove the bolts from the trans bracket on the passenger side. Easier to do now.

I was going to ask if you removed that trans to engine bracket.

Watch your fingers! lol

LOL Yeah I was surprised to see there were any bolts left. With the K-frame out, I didn't think there were any more to take out. I shudder to think what this job would be like with the K-frame there.
