93 Escort GT stalls at stops if A/C ondavez0r 07-21-2008, 03:31 PM Hi, I've got a North-American 1993 Escort GT 1.8L DOHC, with 148K miles on it. It runs great, no problems with idle or surging, etc. as I have read in other posts. The problem I have only seems to occur if the A/C is on. As I'm driving and approach a stop I slip the stick into neutral and apply the brakes. Normally the RPMs drop down to idle at around 800-1000 as expected, but if the A/C is on the revs will go too low and occasionally cause the engine to stall. I can prevent this by gently tapping the accelerator as the revs approach idle speed. Is there something on the throttle that can be adjusted to fix this? I would appreciate your input.
