Cassette Player error

I bought and iPod nano 6 months ago and am just now trying to get it to work in my car for an upcoming road trip. I purchased a cassette player adapter but when I place it in the cassette opening it reads the cassette and then ejects it saying there is an E 10. It does this with all cassettes. Read my owners manual and it said something about the cassette player not being able to turn the hubs. What can I do to fix this problem.

Thanks

with a 97 you have the option of an auxilliary input. This involves a T harness to add a cd changer connector, and a aux-in box to trick the radio into yohinking your ipod is a cd changer.

A second, easier, yet worse sounding alternative is to use an FM modulator that plugs in between the antenna and radio.
