Air conditioner works as long as engine does not get hot. As soon as engine gets to high end of operating temp. The power to the AC dies. I have changed the relays but that did not fix the problem. Does anyone have any idea what could be casuing this?

Do your cooling fans turn on when AC is used?

I know that on a Ford/Mercury shutting down the compressor when the engine coolant temp gets to high is a "self defense" that is built in to save the motor. My 95' sable did this when the electric radiator fan died. Replaced the fan and the engine cools and the A/C is good once again.
