Do not waste power by putting a BOV on your car. The car comes with a diverter. It's different from a BOV. As a BOV just wastes exhaust gases the diverter is known as a recirculatory valve. You can buy an after market diverter valve. Look around. There are tons of Euro Tuner sites.

A blow off valve (BOV) has little to do with the turbo, and does not go "in the turbo." You may be thinking about the internal wastegate that comes in the OEM K03 turbos that were put on 1.8T VW engines.

...As a BOV just wastes exhaust gases the diverter is known as a recirculatory valve.

No, a BOV does not "waste exhaust gases" what it does is waste built up boost pressure in the intercooler pipes. What a recirculated valve will do is "recirculate" the produced boost pressure back into the intake tube BETWEEN THE MAF AND THE THROTTLE BODY. The point of recirculating the air is to put it back into the system because it has already been accounted for by the mass air flow sensor (MAF). Because the tuning of the engine knows that this air has been produced, and it would alter the air/ fuel ratio if there is not as much air as it thought. What a BOV will do is release this built up pressure into the atmosphere, and the ECU will still think that this air is in the intake, and your car will sound cool, but run like poo because the A/F ratio will be off.

If you want to run a BOV, you will either need to get a chip that allows this option, or you will need to run a standalone engine managment because they run off of a Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor instead of a MAF.

So, in short, putting a BOV on a car that has software written for a DV is foolish because it will make your car run poorly. So do not do it. And make sure that you get the right information from online before you go changing things on your car.

But there are a number of DV's out there that are upgrades for your car, you should check them out.

You mean atmospheric?

...I knew that looked a little funny. Thanks for making me feel like an idiot. Been awhile since I had a turbo car.
