Anyone Out There That Likes The Aztek?!

HEy is there anyone out there that likes this UGLY P.O.S? I mean...is it all made out of plastic or is that just the designer trying to make it look like it was all made out of plastic?!?! **The designer:bandit: <--all day long**

not only is the body shape ugly but the color options what could they possible be thinking there's this gross yellow color but the all time uglyest for it would have to be that nasty pea soup green I can't belive anyone with a brain would spend thier hard earned money on something that horrible. I actually think the front-end is nice, different, specially in green paint. The rest, specially the back is ugly and the interior plain.

OH LORD.. i went to a Syracuse Auto Dealers Car Show they have here every year.. and there was a yellow Aztek there and i asked the pontiac guy how many he has sold THAT DAY. He sold 205 as on 1 oclock...

I also like the Aztec's fron end. It is something that is different than any other SUV. Every other part of the car is disgusting. (And of coarse, plenty of people in my shitty town bought one.) When I heard they were getting a major face-lift for 2002, I got excited, only too see that the stripped it of all the ugly plastic. BTW, that is the same thing they did to the Chevy Avalanche this year. I think with some redesigning, the Aztec could turn out to be a pretty nice vehicle.

I guess I am lucky, Here in Denver, it is somewhat rare to see one on the road.
The first time I saw one on the road, I was fortunate enough to pull up next to it at an intersection.
It was obviously on a test drive, with a salesman in the pass seat.
I shouted out "THAT THING IS UGLY" I thought the salesman was going to soil his shorts!
From the look on the drivers face, I would say the sale probably didn't happen.

I definitley don't like the way the Aztek looks and of course I reckon it it would drive like a pig (With it's high center of gravity) but the powerplants sound quite good. However a 2WD option on an SUv???? you've got to be fucking kidding me.:rolleyes:

They don't look all that great to me either. They are good little SUV like vehicles. Maybe if we all drove one, we might change our minds about them.

Dude, 2WD SUVS have been availabel from every SUV manufacturer for decades. The Suburbans were MOSTLY 2WD until recently, and the Blazer (both full size and S10) were avaiable in both 4WD and 2WD (the 2WD versions were favorites for hot rodding since the '70s). Even new ones are avaialble both ways (there are 2WD and 4WD Explorers for example). The Acura MDX is available either way, as are most of the smaller SUVs.

The Aztek actually drives pretty decent, especially with the optional 17" wheels. Most of the weight is carried low, and it has larger swaybars, which do a pretty good job of stabilizing it.

As for the redesign, it still has the same amount of plastic, it's just that most of it is painted now. I actually like the yellow or beige with the 17" 5 spoke wheels. Looks like a Sci-Fi/Anime dune buggy.

I have heard many satisfied owners say the same. Its not all about how it looks, Its about how it drives and wheather or not you likethe best of it. Hell as long as it gets you from hear to there.;)

I would have no problem driving an Aztek, they are good vehicles. Anyone who judges them soley on looks is a fool because just because something looks "cool" doesnt mean it is worth the money.

I have heard that they are nice from the inside.
I just think I would have health problems if I vomited every time I went to get into my car.

I can agree with that but I don't think that is a good thing.

It is designed to do the same thing as an SUV, which is scare and intimidate other drivers, but using less gas. A car the typical housewife with the Caravan would relish. When i first saw one I hurled like the guys on Saturday Night Live. The front end slightly reminds me of a 7 series, slightly. Looks like a car designed by Homer Simpson.:bloated:

It is if that's what you want. Obviously some people want that. Some people want tattoos. Some people want green hair. Some people want to spend allday playing video games. I drive older vehicles, yes.
not because I can't afford a new one, I just don't like whats out there.
I would LOVE to buy a hybrid car, I just think those are ugly as well.

Why is it so important to HAVE a negative opinion? Why is it so much more important to be allowed to hate on things than actually take the time to understand them?

I answered my own question right there: it's easy, lazy to hate, but it takes brain power and effort to understand. So lazy, small minded people hate.

As Ive stated many times before, I dont think this is a bad vehicle. I work at a Pontiac dealership and have had the experience of driving one. Also, there are much uglier vehicles than this on the market. No one can sit there and tell me that this is the single most ugly vehicle for sale today. why do I say this? 1. Everyone has different thoughts and 2. Have you seen that new volkswagen euro van? that, in my opinion is an ugly vehicle.

You know, it's ok to not like something. We all have favorites. Doesn't mean that if something isn't your favorite, it's automatically a POS, either.

It's one thing to state that a car isn't your favorite. It's another thing to go so totally overboard on hating it, to even go so far as to put your hatred in your username. That's psychotic.
