94 Sedan Deville Stereo and Speaker info

I saw just before creating this thread that there was another new thread requesting speaker removal information. However, that thread did not include the year of the car, so I am not sure if the replies to that thread will be useful to me.

My friend owns a 1994 Cadillac Sedan Deville. It currently has all the stock stereo equipment, with only the tape player option. This tape player includes an equalizer right on it - in case that was an upgrade.

He is looking to replace all the speakers in the car with my help. I have had some experience with car stereo install, usually referring to online material such as installdr, carstereoremoval, and sometimes autozone's uploaded manuals. However, in this case all the above have failed. Installdr doesn't have sufficient information, carstereoremoval is no longer a free resource, and autozone's manual lists the door panel removal in a single unhelpful step ("Remove the door panel").

We have looked up his car on Crutchfield. It states that 6x9 will fit in the rear deck, and 5 1/4 will fit in both the front and rear doors. He does not dispute the 6x9's in the rear deck; however, he adamantly states there are no speakers in his rear doors. He also says there is no way 5 1/4 will fit in the front doors, due to the location of the grill only being about a 3" square. I only had time to look over his car briefly. I did not investigate the rear section, but I did get a look at the front speaker location. He appears correct that a 5 1/4" speaker will not fit in that location. Although, it is possible that there is just a tweeter there with a separate woofer elsewhere.

Does anyone have any confident knowledge of the actual speaker locations and sizes for this vehicle? I would also appreciate any tips or steps for removing the panelling necessary for access to the speakers in the car.

Hey, i made the other thread.

The car is a '91. If that helps.
It seems the only thing i CAN do is remove the door panel (somehow)

The car was given to me by my parents, who bought it used from my aunt.
It has quite a few problems.
... and 240 000 miles on it :(
