92 Taurus SHO Isssuesmikethof 07-03-2008, 12:44 PM I have a 1992 Sho with some issues where I have asked several people and they are not sure. Whenever I am in lower gears and about to stop, the rpm will drastically drop and occasionaly even die. Im not sure if its a problem with the clutch or not as the other gears seem to be shifting fine. Any advice???? Thanks much! mike shorod 07-03-2008, 01:32 PM Welcome to the forum! What have you checked so far to try to narrow this problem down? Tune up, fuel filter, battery voltage, alternator output, EGR valve, Idle Air Control, shifted to neutral when approaching a stop with clutch pedal depressed, etc.? There are a whole lot of things that could contribute to this. What mods have you done? K&N or similar air filter? -Rod mikethof 07-03-2008, 05:01 PM Haven't done any mods to everything is stock. Took it to a shop the other day and they thought the problem might be with the car's computer-- so dont know about that. But have recently replaced the battery, tune up, oil change, and also replaced the fuel relay switch as that was something the shop suggested also. Sorry i dont have more info! Any more ideas on this? shorod 07-03-2008, 05:31 PM I'd still start by cleaning the MAF sensor and making sure the air filter is not really dirty. The fuel filter and air filter should have been checked and/or replaced as part of the tune up.... You might also consider replacing the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECT). Other than the fuel economy, are there any driveability issues? -Rod vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
